The only 'Under canvas' expedition that truly delivers is set to bring its magic back to North Yorkshire this summer - and we cannot wait.
The Spiegeltent is rolling back into Harrogate's Crescent Gardens from 25 June to 4 July, dragging ten days of music, mischief and mild chaos in with it - and if you’ve been before, you already know this isn’t your standard “nice evening out”.
This is sequins, saxophones, questionable decisions and “just one more drink” turning into 2am. All supported by the lovely folk from Ogden of Harrogate.
Inside that iconic mirrored tent - all velvet booths, low lighting and just enough chaos - you’ll find a line-up that refuses to sit neatly in a box.
Opening night (25 June) comes in hot with Leeds party-starters Hope & Social, a band that basically weaponise joy. Big choruses, big brass, big “arm round your mate screaming the lyrics” energy.
Then on 26 June, things get gloriously outrageous as House of Burlesque strut back into town - feathers, sparkle, attitude and absolutely no intention of behaving. Stick around after and you’re straight into their Silent Disco, which is where things tend to get…loose. (Please bring a note from your GP confirming you're allowed.)

Don’t get it twisted - it’s not all late nights and chaos (although there’s plenty of that). On 28 June, sax powerhouse Jess Gillam and her trio take things in a completely different direction - think jazz, folk, classical, all mashed together into something that somehow still feels like a night out rather than a sit-down-and-be-quiet situation.
And then 1 July shifts the whole mood again with Grīṣhma: Indian Summer Soirée - sitar, tabla, and a proper immersive dive into Indian classical music. It’s calmer, for sure - but no less of an experience.
4 July. Jimmy’s Night.
If you know, you know.
A full-blown throwback to Harrogate’s legendary nightclub - the kind of night where the tunes are big, the nostalgia hits hard, and everyone suddenly remembers they definitely still know all the words.
This one’s less “graceful finale”, more “last one standing on the dancefloor”.
The Spiegeltent isn’t just another event - it’ always feels like a bit of a reset button for the town.
For ten days, Harrogate ditches the polite and leans into something a bit louder, a bit weirder, and a lot more fun.
As Festival Supremo Sharon Canavar puts it, it’s “the best party in town” - and for once, that’s not PR fluff. It actually is.
Where? Crescent Gardens, Harrogate

More names still to come - but thankfully our editor's offer of a bit of Stand-Up isn't getting any traction.
