Migration, War and Community have never focussed the mind more than they are doing right now - and a unique and inspiring family of West Yorkshire documentary filmmakers has partnered with producer Shazia Bibi and Leeds International Film Festival to bring us The Filmmakers For Change Film Festival, which is set to return on October 18 and 19 offering a powerful platform for global voices to share compelling stories on migration, war, community, and social justice.

The festival will take place at Mind the Gap in Bradford (BD9 4SA) on 18 October and St Luke's CARES (LS11 8PD) in Leeds, on 19 October, celebrating films that challenge perspectives and inspire change.

Bringing Global Issues to Local Communities, Filmmakers for Change highlights international films that provoke thought and initiate important conversations. This year's festival includes films from a variety of countries, each addressing issues such as migration, war, community building, and resilience.

The 2024 line-up focuses on stories that transcend borders, diving deep into human rights, displacement, and community solidarity. These films challenge attendees to think critically and engage with pressing global issues.

This year, the festival proudly collaborates with Leeds International Film Festival for its Leeds screening, strengthening its reach and impact in the region. There will be more information released soon for a film screening in November in Bradford central.

Filmmakers for Change is a platform dedicated to showcasing thought-provoking films from around the world, addressing issues such as migration, war, and community development. The festival brings together storytellers, activists, and audiences with the goal of inspiring positive change.

The festival was founded by Pishdaad Modaressi who is a Bradford based filmmaker, after witnessing the struggles of refugees in the Middle East, East Africa and South Asia. He decided to create a platform for those stories to be shared with audiences. The festival is produced by Shazia Bibi who is a producer who believes stories transcends borders and through media and art we can make an impact for change for a better world.
